The XPS format is perfect for handling electronic documents that need printing or archiving. XPS support is now standard in new releases of Windows (since June 2009), with its technology based on XML and ZIP.
Most major printer and scanner manufacturers are ensuring that their hardware supports the XPS format:
Ricoh, HP, Xerox, Canon, Lexmark, Konica-Minolta, Kyocera, Fujitsu, Brother, Toshiba, Panasonic. The same goes with software publishers: Kofax, IRIS, GhostScript, etc.
By bringing XPS support to production platforms such as IBM Power systems, UNIX and Linux,
MAPPING now makes XPS a universal technology.
Today, MAPPING Suite XPS allows the user to retrieve documents created in any format from any platform/application, and convert them to the format best suited to the selected output channel - print, view, e-mail, send to third-party applications, etc.
