Intelligent Mail® barcode with MAPPING Suite
Intelligent Mail® barcode will be the new barcode standard (May 1, 2009) in the United States Postal Service (USPS) to track & sort letters and flat packages. It is also known as the USPS OneCode Solution or USPS 4-State Customer Barcode (abbreviated 4CB, 4-CB, or USPS4CB) and effectively encodes data from POSTNET™ and PLANET® barcodes into a single barcode while providing a greater range of tracking data.
If USPS mailers do not change from POSTNET™ barcode to Intelligent Mail® barcode, they will lose their postal discounts, from $.03 up to $.23 per mail piece.
Intelligent Mail® barcode will be required by the United States Postal Service (USPS) starting May 2009 and presents several key advantages, such as:

- Automatic electronic address update information
- Environmental benefits by reducing waste associated with undeliverable mail
- Improved Tracking via less expensive access to USPS services such as USPS® Confirm® Service
