How to monitor all print streams?

MAPPING OUTPUT MANAGER: the user-dedicated spooler

Definition

MOM is a spooler for Unix, Linux and/or Windows that manages print files, outqs and printers in a Web browser.

General Principle

MAPPING OUTPUT MANAGER combines powerful capabilities with unrivalled ease-of-use and offers a high degree of integration so you can achieve a higher level of productivity in the way you manage printers and print files. This enables your operational and helpdesk teams to save considerable amounts of time that they can devote to increasing the quality of service offered to business end users.

The MAPPING spooler

MAPPING OUTPUT MANAGER manages all spool files in the enterprise whether they are generated with MAPPING Suite (MAPREPORT, MAPPING) or not. Its unique rules engine makes it easy to automatically trigger actions applied to your spool files (generation from files or databases, overlay, bar code, etc.) and define routing criteria according to spool file attributes or content. Once the rules are defined, output can be automated.

Print streams

Real-time printer and print job status let you act proactively rather than reactively. MAPPING OUTPUT MANAGER offers log files at any level e.g. spool file, printer, queue and a quick diagnostic tool in case a problem happens. This integrates seamlessly into most supervision systems.

Managing spool files

MAPPING OUTPUT MANAGER's Web-based user interface is intuitive and user-friendly. Printers and rules can be sorted against organizational criteria (including as many sub-levels as required). This allows transferring all or part of the management of printers and spool files to business end users or groups of users according to your structure. MAPPING OUTPUT MANAGER is so easy to use that you can deploy it without having to plan product training sessions. Users can see the status of their files and printers and perform most actions by themselves. This lightens the load on helpdesk technicians who can then focus on other tasks.

MAPPING OUTPUT MANAGER can be the focal point for the management of your printer pool and all your spool files (regardless of the origin, transfer mode and operating system that generated them) in a centralized or decentralized architecture. Consequently, you no longer need to train your IT staff and business end users to the use of different spoolers on different platforms (OS/400, i5OS, AIX, HP/UX, Linux, Windows…) in your enterprise. This helps save huge amounts of time as it greatly reduces the need for product training, makes deployment a lot faster and simplifies the way you can lead the changes necessary to your business.

MAPPING OUTPUT MANAGER applies routing, print and dispatch rules.
