How to consult and publish documents to the Web?
MAPWEB: Document publishing solution
Definition
Enable access to MAPOUT documents to both local and remote users through a secured Web access.
Requires the MAPPING and MAPOUT license.
General Principle
In the past, when the only options we had were to print out our documents, we were limited to stuffing
them into envelopes and mailing them, or putting them in 3-ring binders and
archiving them, or just throwing them away after looking at them for only a few
minutes.
The distribution
of printed
reports in current day enterprises has greatly increased and become
more
complicated. Now, it is possible to deliver
the same
documents in electronic form. The distribution of electronic
documents can
replace the piles of paper, avoiding unnecessary handling, loss, and
waste.
With
this in mind, the MAPPING software
suite delivers a unique solution to archive all document types
(business output, Office documents, and incoming documents) in
electronic form using two
of our software
module: MAPOUT
Once
archived, not only can you distribute or print them very
easily but you can
also publish them to the Web via an intuitive Web interface called
MAPWEB.
With
MAPWEB, all your users can instantly
and securely display any archival record both locally and remotely.
On this interface users have different options:
- Look up one or more particular records among all of the archives.
- View documents in PDF, TXT or XLS format.
- Email documents.
- Print documents.
In the Administration section you can:
- Manage access to archival records and interface functions by setting up profiles for individual users and groups.
- Grant or restrict access to any archive directory.
- Create predefined lookups.
- Personalize the interface for any user and/or group.
The whole interface is entirely customizable:
- Personalize the interface using customizable screens.
- Implement your own business graphical charter using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS).
- Replace any image in the interface.
To use MAPWEB, a Web server (Apache or IIS) and a database server (MySQL or Oracle) are required.
